GOV. SOLUDO GRADUATE 5000 ANAMBRA YOUTHS WITH 2B START-UP GRANTS SUPPORT.

Today, Friday 27th October 2023, at the ICC Centre Agụ Oka in Anambra State, the Youth-Friendly Governor Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR supports 5000 Anambra Youths with N2,000,000,000.00 Start-up Grants, having undergone training in 23 Vocational Skill areas: ICT, Cosmetology, Livestock, Crop farming, Clothing/Fashion, Metal fabrication, Aluminum Fabrication, Automobiles Repairs, Cinematography, Beauty Care & GELE, Solar & CCTV Installation, Cooling System, Marble & table-top casting, Electrical Electronic, Cooking & Catering, Confectioneries & Decorations, Pop & Screeding, etc.


The 5000 Graduation Beneficiaries were drawn from the governor's project tagged "One Youth Two Skills Solution." They include Master Trainers, Trainees, and Umuboi. The Beneficiaries were carefully selected after going through the One Youth Two Skills Solution methodology of Vocational Skill training using the old Igbo Model of Ịgba BOi (Apprenticeship), Entrepreneurship Scheme training with Entrepreneurship Development Institutes EDI in partnership with UNIZIK BUSINESS SCHOOL, NNAMDI AZIKIWE UNIVERSITY AWKA, after which the next stage is Business Financing followed by free One year Mentoring.


The Governor during his address said the Beneficiaries, having been grouped in tens, can also source for loans to increase their capacity through ANAMBRA STATE BUSINESS AGENCY (ASBA), which is on single digits repayment plan.


The Governor called on well-meaning individuals, business owners, captains of industries, Donor Agencies, etc., to join hands in changing the lives, even if it's One person per skill.


The Graduands were given their Certificate of completion of the training by the Governor.


Mr. Patrick Agha Mba Commissioner for Youth Development Anambra State, whose mandate was to initiate the Governor's Projects, expressed his joy and thanked the Governor Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR for his wonderful support to Anambra Youths and the Ministry of Youth Development in curbing Unemployment, restiveness, etc. The Commissioner, during his speech, announced that another set of over 10,000 trainees will be trained, having drawn them from 150,000 youths who registered to participate with about 1000 Master Trainers that will be drawn from 6000 Businesses that indicate interest to train.


The Graduands were very happy with the Governor's support for the Grants to enable them to start up their own business.


Many individuals were in attendance, Deputy Governor Dr. Ibezim, members of Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC), the traditional rulers, clergy, Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Youth directors from different states, various youth stakeholders etc
